Research Production
Beijing Lantron has one of the largest proprietary corn breeding programs in China, testing and evaluating more genetically different lines than any other Chinese seed company. We are among the strongest in maize genetics and seed research in China’s seed industry.
With more than 400 acres of research nursery, we test over 20,000 new hybrids yearly. We have bred over 20 new inbred lines and commercialized 21 new maize hybrids in the last 5 years. We have two corn hybrid brands: The Zhongke (it means Chinese Science in Chinese) and The Lantron (it means united innovation in Chinese). We have 4 hybrids approved and registered to sell nationally (Zhongke 11, Zhongke 10, Zhongke 2, and Lantron 5), and 17 hybrids approved and registered to sell in multiple provinces (among them, the widely grown hybrids are Zhongke 4, Lantron 1, Lantron 3, Lantron 4, Lantron 6, and Lantron 7).
We have world-class testing and research laboratories and R & D teams in genomics, molecular breeding and maize double-haploid breeding. Our Center of Molecular Breeding has the capacity for molecular marker development, molecular genotyping, genomics and protein biology, and bioinformatics. We have developed and implemented various type molecular markers, including SSR and SNP and cellular and developmental technologies that support precision phenotyping.
